Apparently "30 Days" is coming back for season 2 on FX. Pilot.

"30 Days" was a documentary by the same guy that did "Super Size Me". The show is basically him getting people to do various things for 30 days. In the first season he did things like, take a mid-west guy and move him out to San Francisco for 30 days with a gay couple. He also took a guy and put him in a Muslim community for 30 days. It's actually quite good and definitely worth a watch.
5th-Jun-2006 12:53 pm - Is She American
grrr
[info]ash418 and I are combining bank accounts to make it easier to pay the bills for the wedding, so I went to Wachovia today to close the account. The following is the conversation I had with the bank teller:

Bank Teller: Can I help you?
Me: Yes, I would like to close my account.
Bank Teller: What is the reason for closing the account.
Me: I'm getting married soon and we are merging bank accounts.
Bank Teller: Congratulations!
Bank Teller: Is she American?
Me: Ahh, Yes?
...

Ok, am I the only one who thinks that question is a little weird?

Funny music video I ran across on i-am-bored.com. Now I just need to buy his album from his web site. It looks like this guy is actually trying to sell his crappy music.
14th-Apr-2006 11:11 am - Weird Combinations
grrr
Last night [info]ash418 and I were at Giant picking up some Fudge Sicles and I remembered we needed toilet paper and deoderant. Which got me thinking about the days when I worked at Target and we would try to come up with the weirdest combinations of items that people could buy together. So my question is what is the weirdest combination of items you have seen or bought?

At work we have a 4 story parking garage. From where I sit, I and 12 other stories worth of people look out over the top floor of the parking garage. Every morning I roll into work around 10:00 and park on the top floor so I can see my car :) The thing is no one parks up there except for me (Porsche Boxster) and my co-worker (Infinity G35) and sometimes this other guy we don't know (Porsche 911 Carrera) and there are like 30+ spots, so I tend to park crooked in the spot (sometimes taking up two spots) because I can. My co-worker and the guy we don't know does the same.

Today I came in and found 6 cars (Old Mercedes, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Saturn Something, VW Jetta, and a Honda CR-V) parked up on the top floor all taking up two spots (I don't know any of these people). I know they are just mocking me, which I think is kinda funny. Every so often they set off there car alarm just to grab my attention.

So I need some help coming up with something to show them I'm not some ass hole who is in love with there car (even though I sorta am in love with my car).

Found this on a forum (forum)

Hi all,

I work in the Egyptology department at the University of Canbridge.

There's three things that I think people are missing.

Firstly, the ancient Egyptians did not speak modern English. Those of you who are expecting the glyphs to spell out a word (like "Sayid") in Western letters are going to be disappointed!

Secondly. The last two symbols are determinative glyphs. That is they convey meaning to the other glyphs.

Finally, The fouth glyph is not the vulture nor the owl as some people on this forum have mistaken it as.

The symbols in the clock are as follows (in Gardiner format):

[S29] [Z7] [T34] -- [G37] [Z6]

The first three are phonetics (s,w,nm). When said aloud together, they make a sound that is not unlike the English word "swan".

The last two (determinatives) are "small" and "death"

So we have (Swan)--(Small Death)

Read that as you want. It's clearly ambiguous and I expect the writers intended for it to be ambiguous.

My first instinct is that it pretty much means, "The Swan Station is about to self destruct". However, small and death could also equally mean disease which also would obviously fit in.

OK, I saw this theory on one of the news sites I read. It's kind of a stretch but it all fits well into the LOST story line. If this is in fact a correct theory, WOW!
